Why holographic fabric works on a dance floor
Holographic fabric does not glow on its own. It throws back whatever light hits it, and the colour moves as the angle changes: silver on one turn, violet on the next, a rainbow flash when the arm lifts. On a dark floor with a laser sweeping across, that shift is the whole show. Neonyx is built for that kind of light, so the fabric does the work and the camera only has to stay patient.
Your reference does not need to be holographic. A plain silver top, a chrome bodysuit or a black outfit with a foil print will do, as long as the prompt names the sheen. The studio carries the pose and the face from your photo and adds the shimmer from the light you describe. Keep the reference sharp and well lit, because flat light gives the foil nothing to catch.
Two mistakes flatten most foil clips. The first is a bright background, which washes out the sheen. The second is a fast spin, which smears the colour into grey. Keep the room dark, the turn slow and the light coming from one side at a time.

No. A silver, chrome or plain outfit works. Name the sheen in the prompt and the studio adds it from the light you describe.
Why does my foil look flat?
Usually the light. Flat front lighting gives foil nothing to catch. Ask for a side laser sweep or one cold strobe, and keep the background dark.
Can the colours change during the clip?
Yes, that is the point. Ask for a slow turn or a slow arm lift, and the sheen moves from silver to violet to gold as the angle shifts.
Is holographic the same as neon?
