Why a mesh top reads on video
Mesh is a grid. In a still photo it can look flat; in motion every hole shifts a little, and the light passes through at a new angle with each move. A backlit mesh top gives a clip a shimmer a solid fabric cannot, and it keeps the eye on the texture for longer.

Why does my knit seem to shimmer on its own?
A dense grid can shimmer when the model redraws each frame. A coarser mesh, a plain background and a single slow move reduce the effect.
Can I use a mesh top when my photo is not sheer?
Yes. Name the mesh in the prompt and describe the holes, such as “wide open knit with gaps”. The model will add texture that matches the words, though it can vary a little from the photo.
Do I need a strong backlight?
Not strong, but clear. A warm lamp behind the subject makes the holes visible; a bright flash from the front flattens them.
What if the layer under the mesh changes?
Name it: “black bra top under the mesh” or “white bodysuit under the knit”. Without a name, the model may invent a different base layer from one frame to the next.
